Come WALK for FREEDOM with KHF

YOU'RE INVITED to Columbia, Missouri's first Freedom Walk on behalf of the Kirsten Haglund Foundation. Join us as we celebrate "Recovery Is Possible", raise awareness of eating disorders and life saving funds for treatment scholarships.

Event Details

  • Live music & entertainment including a post walk performance by City Ballet Theatre
  • Pre walk warm up lead by Lotus Hot Yoga
  • Speakers - Eating Disorder Advocates and Clinicians
  • Silent auction full of wonderful donations. Cash, check, credit card or PayPal accepted

Program Host - Amanda Lewis

Amanda is a passionate eating disorder advocate & has personally experienced "recovery IS possible!" She is an intern for the Kirsten Haglund Foundation and this event's coordinator -- Columbia, Missouri's first KHF Freedom Walk. Amanda is also on the Alumnae Board for Timberline Knolls and manages her own mental health platform, Choose Harmony. When Amanda is not busy talking about how therapy is cool or fighting against diet culture, you can find her working at a Residential Substance Use Treatment Facility for Compass Health Network in MO.

Opening Remarks - Iora Haglund, President, Kirsten Haglund Foundation


Iora has over 40 years of experience in health care provision and administration, including faith-based nursing and Lay Pastoral leadership. She has served on the board of directors for KHF since its inception and believes “recovery is possible”.

Emcee & Special Guest - Callie Cox, Former Miss Missouri


Callie is from Mexico, Missouri and currently lives in Columbia with her kitten, Savvy. She is a former Miss Missouri and is currently the Miss Kansas City Teen Director within the Miss America Organization. She works full time as a Communications Director for a nonprofit in Jefferson City while continuing to find opportunity in the fine arts world. She is a state recognized vocalist and a lover of musical theater. Callie looks forward to continuing to empower individuals through every interaction at the KHF Freedom Walk!

Speaker: Isabelle Bouchard, MS, RD, LD


Isabelle is a registered dietitian and founder of an interdisciplinary group practice, Bamboo Nutrition. Her group practice works with individuals in person in Missouri and Nationally through telehealth. She graduated with her Masters in Dietetics from the University of Kansas Medical Center and established her practice in 2018. Isabelle specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and enjoys the ins-and-outs of business, leadership and mentoring future dietitians when possible.

Speaker: Katie Farr


Katie is a Jefferson City native born and raised. She is currently in her second year at Missouri State University majoring in Public Relations with a minor in marketing and serves as a Resident Assistant on campus. Outside of school, Katie is an active participant in the Miss America Organization, currently represents her college town as Miss Springfield Rt 66. and will compete for the job of Miss Missouri this June! Katie is a passionate eating disorders advocate since finding freedom from her eating disorder. She works to educate, fundraise, and spread awareness of these disorders as an ambassador for the Missouri Eating Disorders Association and certified Feed the Facts Presenter. She prides herself on promoting the message that all are Altogether Beautiful. “You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.” (Song of Solomon 4:7)

Speaker: Alison Burkhardt


Alison is a Missouri country girl through and through, although she spent three years living in Detroit, followed by 13 years in Chicago before moving back to her beloved rural MO. She loves music, the arts, reading, the outdoors, a physical challenge, and most importantly she loves Jesus. Alison looks forward to sharing her story of recovery.
