Come walk for freedom with KHF
YOU'RE INVITED to Columbia, Missouri's 2nd Annual Freedom Walk on behalf of the Kirsten Haglund Foundation! Join us as we celebrate eating disorder recovery, and raise lifesaving funds for treatment scholarships. The Freedom Walk will include sponsors providing eating disorder information and resources, inspirational speakers, an exciting silent auction, and a pre-walk yoga warm up.
Program Guests
Katie Farr - Emcee
Katie is a Jefferson City native born and raised. She is currently in her third year at Missouri State University majoring in Public Relations with a minor in marketing and serves as a Resident Assistant on campus. Katie is a passionate eating disorders advocate since finding freedom from her eating disorder. She prides herself on promoting the message that all are Altogether Beautiful. “You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.” (Song of Solomon 4:7)
Kelsey Esser, MSW, LCSW - Speaker
Kelsey is a therapist and the founder of The Current Therapy Services, a group practice that specializes in treating eating disorders. Kelsey has been helping her clients gain freedom from eating disorders for the past 8 years. Kelsey is passionate about training other providers to recognize and treat eating disorders to increase awareness and access for those who need care.
Reagan Duenckel, MS - Speaker
Reagan is a May 2024 graduate of Central Methodist University's Masters in Clinical Counseling Program. She is an advocate for mental health and wellness and works to help others feel empowered to become their best selves.
Megan Baker - Speaker
Megan is from Columbia, MO. Currently a sorority house director on the University of Missouri Campus, she has also worked with those recovering from substance use disorder. Having struggled with loving her body, she attended a women's conference in 2019 that helped her to realize the strength and power she had within. Megan will share about her journey of recovery from an eating disorder.
Amanda Weller - Fundraising & Outreach Manager
Amanda discovered her passion for mental health advocacy after recovering from her own eating disorder. She started a blog and mental health platform, “Choose Harmony." Amanda served on the Alumnae Board for Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center and as a former KHF Intern, coordinated Missouri's first Freedom Walk in 2023.
